THE STORY OF HOW THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ WAS BORN
Now, this here story takes place somewhere up in Northern Minnesota. You might call it Bob and Ted's Excellent Fishing Adventure.
The story goes somethin like this:
Old Ted pulls his boat up in to a cove which he just knows has to be loaded with fish. Ted commences to get his trusty rod out, ties on a hook, puts the bait on the hook, and places his old conventional red and white bobber about 24 inches up from the hook. Knowing he can't cast the bait like a lure overhead, he slowly and gently takes the rod back and starts to sidearm the hook, bait, weight and bobber to a place he has picked out. As Ted slings everything towards it's intended destination, he feels a thud, quickly followed by, "Hey!" As Ted grimaces and slowly looks over his shoulder towards his good buddy Bob, (at least up to this point) Ted sees his hook, minus it's bait, firmly entrenched into good old Bob's favorite hat! In order to keep the solid relationship, Ted profusely apologizes and asks, "is there any blood present"? Bob assures him everything is alright, but pleads with Ted to be more careful the next time. Taking out his trusty toad sticker, Ted cuts the hook out of Bob's hat! Bob was delighted to see the 1/4" slice out of his hat!
Well sir, Ted baits up again. This time he goes down to the other end of the boat in hopes of not hooking his friend again. Ted gently sidearms the hook, bait, weight and old conventional red & white bobber to it's intended place of landing. Almost in slow motion, Ted looks up only to see his bait flying off in one direction while the unbaited hook and bobber land in the complete opposite direction. Now, about 10 minutes into this ordeal Ted still has not got his baited hook into the water intact, let alone getting it to it's intended landing zone.
Could the third time be a charm? After all what else could go wrong? So Ted reels in the empty hook, and baits the hook......HEY, THIS IS GETTING REALLY EXPENSIVE! With hook, bait, and weight all dangling 2' below the old conventional bobber, after a short prayer, Ted slings or sidearms the bait.....very gently I might add.....to it's intended fishing area. Low and behold as the bait, hook, weight and old conventional bobber are thrown in mass, it resembled a helicopter rotor blade whirling, whirling, whirling, and finally landing, or crashing into the water.........about 30 feet in a different direction from where it was intended to land, and as the bait hit it went skipping off like a flat rock thrown into the water . Well sir, this last sequence happened time and time again, with the bait flying off the hook like a line drive off of The Babe's bat. Ted was was wasting bait, time, and the possible end to a great relationship with his best friend, not to mention his patience had come to the end of it's rope!
Shortly thereafter THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ "Bobber" was born! Finally there is a way to keep your bait from flying off when you cast and to get it to the intended area you want to fish. Now you can reel THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ right up to the end of your rod tip, with no bait and hook hangin down because it is safely protected inside THE BAIT SHUTTLE™, and you can throw overhand or overhead, like a lure, and throw it as hard and far as your reel with let you throw it. On impact with the water, THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ turns over and gently dumps out your bait intact and any weight you might be using. THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ now becomes your Bobber in bright neon colors. Your bait doesn't come off the hook, it lands in the place where you want it, and you don't take a chance on putt'n your buddy's eye ball out! But hey, what about night time fish'n? Well, never fear, THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ has it's own buddie, called GLOW-STIXtm. Just pop one of these bad boys into the top of THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ and your good to go for the darkest of nights, 'cause it illuminates THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ for night time fish'n. We've got you covered! GLOW-STIX tm come with THE BAIT SHUTTLE™, and replacement GLOW-STIXtm refill packages are available to put in your tackle box.
This here idea worked so well, we made another model of THE BAIT SHUTTLE™, called "The Sinker" for those anglers that like to fish on the bottom with bait. Yep, same thing happens. Your bait arrives to it's destination, protected and intact, and then THE BAIT SHUTTLE™ and bait slowly sink to the bottom, with bait intact! VOILA! Can all this be true, or is it only a figment of your imagination, one of those really good dreams or an urban legend? Yep, it's true! A revolution has come for any and all bait fisherman, your prayers have been answered! NO MORE LOST BAIT FROM CASTS!!
Now, this here BAIT SHUTTLE™ "Bobber", GLOW-STIXtm and "Sinker", are ready for shipment in 2008.
Well, I hope ya'll enjoyed this story about THE BAIT SHUTTLE™, and how it all came about. Hey, I got to get out of here, and as old Harold Ensley used to say, 'GONE FISH'N INSTEAD OF JUST A WISH'N".
